
Joel Perlmutter, M.D., Washington University
Dr. Perlmutter is the Elliot Stein Family Professor of Neurology. He is the head of the Movement Disorders Section, Director of the American Parkinson Disease Association Advanced Research Center for Parkinson Disease, and the Director of the Huntington Disease Center of Excellence at Washington University. Dr. Perlmutter’s main research interests include neuroimaging, basal ganglia physiology and pharmacology, mechanisms of deep brain stimulation, pathophysiology of dystonia, development of new agents to reduce nigrostriatal injury, and electronic medical records systems.
